TRAILS (Therapeutic Recreation: Accessing Independence in Leisure and Social Skills) is a year long after-school program at Storm Harbor Equestrian Center for youth on the autism spectrum. This program is integrated in the Recreational Therapy program coursework so that first-year students learn more about how to communicate with youth on the autism spectrum. Juniors learn about grant-writing and fund-raising by supporting this program. Your donation will support therapeutic riding, equine-assisted activity, archery, sensory trail activity, and gardening. The program not only provides valuable interventions for youth on the spectrum but also provides hands-on learning experiences for two different groups of students. |
