| Project Title: | Field Experience Immersion in Music - Santa Fe! |

“I quickly learned that this was the missing piece of my life that I did not know I needed.” – 2019 Santa Fe Field Experience Immersion in Music student. In January 2021, the SRU music education program will be embarking on our fourth trip to New Mexico for two weeks of observing, assisting, and teaching in the Santa Fe Public Schools, Santa Fe Indian School, and New Mexico School for the Arts; professional development through guest speakers and attendance at the New Mexico Music Educators Association conference; and cultural activities. In this Field Experience Immersion in Music course, students have the opportunity to explore music education in a region of the country that is much different than western Pennsylvania. We are raising money to help remove financial barriers to student-participation in this experience, which one past participant described as “This is by far the best thing I have done while in college and I am so thankful for this unforgettable experience.” |
