FMLA is a social club that provides an inclusive space where we talk about issues that affect all intersections of identities. Along with weekly meetings, we also put on 10-15 events per year, both by ourselves and collaborations. These include annual events such as Take Back the Night, Equal Pay Day Bake Sale and campaigning on the Red Zone. We also hold events that differ from year to year. This year we did things ranging from #BlackHerStory, which called attention to erasure of Black women in history books, to a viewing of the movie The Red Pill for International Mens Day, and also have an upcoming panel on Women and the Second Shift. On top of our events, this year we took 30 students to New York City for the weekend and went to the Feminist Art Museum. Money donated here would go into our self-support account and could help us lower the price for a similar trip next year. Thank you in advance! |
