Reaching for the stars At the SRU Planetarium you can “travel” to other worlds and ponder the secrets of our vast universe. A unique feature about our planetarium is that its new digital projection system was designed by an SRU alum and is operated entirely by SRU students. Students with different interests and skills from a dozen different departments currently work in the planetarium to produce weekly scheduled shows for SRU students and the public as well as special shows on request for visiting groups. SRU Planetarium is a university and public service facility and all our programs are offered free of charge. The demand for this facility is rapidly growing and we are requesting your support that will allow us to continue fulfill our mission - provide educational experiences and entertainment that foster a passion for astronomy and science. Generous gifts from you will enable us to produce and purchase new planetarium shows, install state of the art technology, and provide our students with more opportunity to work in a place where they can promote communication skills and hone their technical & creative skills. |
