The Slippery Rock University Softball program prides itself on not only creating a winning program, but more importantly producing unforgettable relationships and experiences that transforms our student-athletes into better leaders, better competitors, and more importantly, better women. Being a part of the Slippery Rock University Softball team means a great deal. It means we are committed—committed to our teammates, our coaches, and our university. It means we work hard—a daily balance of academics, practice, and conditioning. It means we wear green and white with pride and our uniform with confidence. It means friendship, leadership, communication, selflessness, family, sacrifice, and love. Slippery Rock Softball means everything. However, our love for the game won’t balance the price tag of what a softball season costs. Currently, Slippery Rock University Softball Program is not fully funded; therefore, we heavily rely on student fundraising efforts to help offset the cost of equipment, travel, and lodging. This year, in our quest for the PSAC Championship, we will continue to travel to South Carolina, Virginia and Florida. SRU helps with the cost of our Spring Break trip to Florida and partial help with our tournament in SC, but our trip to Virginia is 100% fundraised: hotel, food, and transportation—approximately $7,000.00. And not to mention, we have over $3,000.00 worth of equipment and apparel that must be fundraised in addition to our operating costs. With that said, we need your help! Your participation in our campaign will help us achieve our goals and allow us to focus less on raising money and more on our competitive season ahead. |
